But wait, don’t I need to get my car serviced at the supplying dealership?
It’s a common misconception that you need to get your vehicle serviced by the supplying dealership in order to keep your manufacturer’s warranty valid. And, let’s be honest, it’s a misconception that not many dealerships are keen to see disproven. Which is why many log books even say that the log book is to be stamped by an “authorised dealer”.
- This simple belief however, is wrong.
- Your manufacturer warranty isn’t affected in anyway when certified log book servicing is up to date.
- Our mechanics are fully qualified and certified to do your log book servicing!
- Chances are, you’ll also save money when you bring your vehicle to us as we only do what ‘needs’ to be done. We don’t add things in unnecessarily.
The truth is that in Australia your supplying dealer isn’t the only one qualified to carry out your service and stamp your log book. The ACCC have confirmed that it’s perfectly acceptable for an independent garage to sign or stamp the relevant page of your service log book with no negative effects for manufacturer’s warranty whatsoever, provided of course they are qualified to do so and meet all the essential requirements.
Needless to say, our expert mechanics are qualified, capable and happy to carry out comprehensive log book services at a much more reasonable price than you can expect from a main dealer.
We carry out all servicing in line with your manufacturer’s specifications to ensure your warranty remains valid, your Consumer Guarantees are met and any state or territory based statutory warranty on your vehicle is also preserved.

What’s the difference between a basic service and a logbook service?

Vehicle servicing option can be broad, and you’ll find that different manufacturers all have slightly different ideas of what is and isn’t included in a service or what should be done when certain time / mileage conditions are met.
As a general rule of thumb, vehicle servicing is divided into two kinds of service, a minor service (also known as an oil change service) and a log book services.
Minor services includes;
- Draining and replacing your oil
- Replacing your oil filter and sump plug
- Multi-point check
Log book servicing is more comprehensive and what is included will depend on the make and model of your vehicle.
Typically it will also include an oil and filter service but it may also include a replacement of other essential safety parts.
We are fully authorised to complete all types of log book services for for all makes and models which are followed up by a comprehensive inspections.
All servicing is carried out to the manufacturer’s exact specifications using appropriate, high-quality parts and fluids.
And, of course, we will stamp your log book so that you have a full record of all the work that’s been done.
We’ll also give your vehicle a complimentary wash and vac so you can drive away with your car looking and feeling good as new.
Basically, we do everything your main dealer will do when servicing your vehicle at a much more reasonable price.
